Alex MacKay
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Alex MacKay leads DMTI Spatial's management team. He is responsible for the Corporate Direction Plan, for all financial/operational objectives, and directs the execution and measurement of all operations.
Alex joined DMTI Spatial as CEO in mid 2006 as DMTI's Founders and existing management team sought out a leader to take DMTI into the Enterprise market in addition to its thriving Data Product business. Since joining DMTI, Alex has driven a focus on speed of execution, client priority, and the building of an infrastructure for growth which is founded on the strength of DMTI people and their skill development.
Prior to DMTI, Alex has enjoyed a 22 year career in enterprise solutions with market leaders such as SAP, Siebel and Unisys specializing in building high performance teams in growth markets across both Canada and USA. Alex's solution experience covers implementation success across numerous vertical industries including Financial Services, Communications, Internet and the Public Sector. Alex holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Windsor and a BA in Economics from Laurentian University.
John Fisher
Chairman & Chief Technology Officer
John Fisher is the visionary who drives the creation and articulation of the technology vision for the company and specializes in providing strategic advisory services to our customers. The Office of the Chairman and CTO at DMTI is a vital link between evolving market needs and the technical direction of the company.
John is a co-founder of DMTI Spatial and has over 24 years of experience in the geospatial industry, starting his career at the Ontario Ministry of Health, Emergency Health Services, where he initiated the digital mapping program for Ontario ambulances.
Prior to co-founding DMTI Spatial in 1994, John was President and co-owner of DigiMap Data Services, a Toronto Geographic Information Systems consulting firm. John's prior experience includes management of the GIS Division at Marshall Macklin Monaghan, a large Canadian-based international consulting engineering firm, and at the Ontario Cabinet Secretariat, where he had a leadership role in the development of the provincial government’s strategic planning policy for information technology.
John holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto.
George Staikos
President - Canada
In his role as President, DMTI Canada, George is responsible for leading the Client Management and Project Management Office to accelerate the acquisition of new enterprise clients, ensure the successful deployment of DMTI solutions within all client engagements, and maintain strategic relationships with the DMTI Spatial client base.
George joined DMTI Spatial early in 2006 as Vice President Sales and Marketing, bringing over 20 years of experience to the company. Under his leadership, DMTI has rapidly expanded its client base in the Telecommunications, Public Sector, Finance, Retail, Oil & Gas, and Location Based Services sectors enabling customers to unlock measurable business value by leveraging DMTI's rich, reliable, and robust location intelligence content.
Prior to joining DMTI Spatial George held the position of President and CEO of the Performax Sales & Marketing Group where he spearheaded significant revenue growth for the company. Before Performax, George was Vice President, Sales North America for Platform Computing Corporation. George began his career with IBM and rose to the position of National Sales and Marketing Manager in 1996.
George holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Richard Ivey School of Business and an Honours BA from the University of Western Ontario.
John Sorrell
Vice President & General Manager, Mapping Solutions
John Sorrell leads the Mapping Solutions business unit and is responsible for creating the next generation of mapping data products and solutions. Focus will be placed on reducing production costs while improving value to the end user.
John brings 15 years of technical and management expertise with geospatial information to the Mapping Solutions division. Working closely with customers to understand their most important business challenges and opportunities, the Mapping Solutions division is realigned to deliver on key factors that drive success for our customers. Prior to spearheading this business unit, John held management roles in Product Development, Product Management and as the Director of Marketing at DMTI Spatial. John Sorrell joined DMTI Spatial in 2004.
John holds a Graduate degree from York University and an Honours degree in Geography from Queen’s University.
Chris Thomas
Vice President & General Manager, Enterprise Solutions
In his role as VP & GM, Enterprise Solutions, Chris is responsible for delivering the technology platform, business processes and applications surrounding DMTI’s market leading Enterprise Solution, the Location Hub. In this capacity Chris will lead teams of Location Intelligence experts including Product Development, Client Services and Data Acquisition, whose primary focus will be to deliver the most robust enterprise Location Intelligence solution available to the market today, enabling organizations to unlock measurable business value by leveraging location content.
With an added advantage of over 10 years of experience at DMTI Spatial, holding various positions which include Strategic Account Manager, Manager of Sales, and Senior Solution Engineer, Chris’s background is critical in ensuring seamless integration of web-based service delivery for all DMTI Spatial products. Chris also spearheads the Data Acquisition department, the content engine responsible for delivering DMTI’s rich, reliable and robust content.
Before joining DMTI Spatial and in earlier years with the company, Chris' responsibilities encompassed development and technical roles with a focus on enterprise solutions.
Chris earned a GIS Specialist Certificate program from McMaster University in 1995, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Laurentian University in 1994.
Kristina Cleary
Vice President, Marketing
Kristina Cleary joined DMTI Spatial in 2008 as Vice President, Marketing. In this role, Kristina is responsible for the development and execution of a strategic marketing plan in support of the company’s aggressive growth objectives.
Working closely with DMTI’s Mapping Solutions and Enterprise Solutions business unit leaders, Ms. Cleary will design comprehensive and innovative marketing programs to attract new customers, drive sales and support DMTI’s expansion into international markets. Programs of focus will include DMTI’s overall market positioning, including product marketing, marketing communications, corporate communications and public relations.
Kristina brings over 14 years of software industry knowledge and proven marketing results. Most recently Kristina was the Senior Marketing Director at Workbrain Corporation where she was responsible for all marketing communications worldwide. Prior to joining Workbrain, Kristina held marketing and management consulting positions at PwC Consulting and Promenad Communications.
Kristina holds a bachelor’s degree in International Management and Marketing from Adelaide University in South Australia.
Glenor Pitters
Executive Vice President, Special Projects
As EVP Special Projects, Glenor Pitters is responsible for planning and executing key strategic projects that arise as DMTI expands. Glenor’s portfolio of special projects will include initiatives that fall within the spectrums of corporate planning, capital financing, as well as community service and achievements.
Glenor co-founded DMTI Spatial in 1994 and has been in the geospatial industry for over 16 years. Prior to starting DMTI Spatial, she spent several years with DigiMap Data Services a Toronto GIS consulting company where as the company grew she performed various functions including planning and accounting, spearheading the company's marketing initiatives, and managing all aspects of the company's HR and administrative functions. In addition, Glenor developed and managed the company's software and product training programs.
Prior to embarking on a career in Location Intelligence Glenor practiced commercial litigation with a Toronto Law firm. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1989.
Glenor holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Windsor, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto.
Kara John
Vice President, Intellectual Property and Privacy
Kara John pioneers special projects and partnerships for DMTI. She is also responsible for IP protection and Privacy policies. Currently she is active in establishing the groundwork for DMTI's USA expansion.
Kara has been involved in the field of intelligent transportation and mapping for more than 12 years, having worked with customers, partners and data providers in more than 20 countries. Prior to joining DMTI Spatial Kara spent three years at Navitrak International where she held the positions of Vice President, Sales and Marketing and Director, Intelligent Mapping. Prior to that, she spent six years working with Navteq in the U.S.A. and Canada in different management positions including managing International Strategic Development in Emerging Markets.
Kara has been involved for 9 years at the National and International levels in the development of ISO Standards and Policies to support the geospatial industry. She is a: Member of The Licensing Executives Society - LES (U.S.A. and Canada), Inc.; Member of Board of Directors and Chair of Architecture & Standards Committee - Intelligent Transportation Society of Canada (ITS Canada); Member of the (CAC) Canadian Advisory Committee to ISO TC204 - Intelligent Transportation Systems and; Member of the (CAC) Canadian Advisory Committee to ISO TC211.
Kara holds a BA in International Development from Clark University and a Masters in International Affairs from Boston University.
Doug Seaborn
Vice President Strategic Accounts, USA
As VP Strategic Accounts, USA, Doug’s mission is to build strategic relationships with partners, clients, and industry luminaries to enable DMTI’s expansion into the U.S. market. A respected industry visionary and GIS pioneer, Doug works collaboratively with global accounts to help solve their unique business challenges and deliver rapid ROI. He applies his extensive experience in the development and successful deployment of enterprise-wide location intelligence systems to help customers unlock measurable business value by leveraging DMTI’s rich, reliable, and robust location intelligence content.
As Founder of GeoVision Corporation in 1986, Doug pioneered the use of relational database management and distributed processing architecture to create the company’s VISION* software, since deployed in more than 30 of the world’s largest utilities, telecom service providers and national land parcel information systems. The VISION* product line and customer base was acquired by Autodesk in 1999.
During his 25 year career in the enterprise GIS community, Mr. Seaborn has provided business reengineering strategy and GIS enterprise architecture solutions to many GIS organizations, including Orlando/Orange County FL, New Zealand Lands, North West Water [UK], ESRI, IBM, MapInfo, SouthWestern Bell, US West, Ohio Edison, BC Hydro, Portland Electric, and Kadastre [Netherlands].
In 1996, Mr. Seaborn founded VMI Medical, a pediatric cardiology company providing innovative cardiac imaging and patient care software to more than 20 Children’s Hospitals throughout North America.
Christina Kwan
Controller
In her role as Controller, Christina is responsible for managing DMTI’s finance organization including the supervision of daily accounting functions, cash flow, payroll, and administration. In this capacity Christina is in charge of annual budget and financial statement preparation, year-end audit, internal control, financial analysis and decision making, managing income tax returns and other government filings and submissions.
Christina brings to DMTI over 20 years of extensive financial management and operations experience working with leading software and technology vendors. Her experience managing Panorama Software, an international Business Intelligence solutions company with complex financial and tax infrastructures, will be critical in supporting DMTI’s aggressive growth strategy into new markets where location intelligence is entering the mainstream.
Prior to joining Panorama, Christina held finance management positions for BCE Emergis Inc., Newstar Technologies Inc., and CDI Education Corporation.
Christina received her CGA designation from the Certified General Accountants Association of Ontario in 1996, and holds a Bachelor of Economics from York University
