Job Summary and Essential Functions:
Working in the Client Management group, the Solutions Engineer (SE) is fundamentally responsible for aligning DMTI's solutions and expertise with client business issues and/or opportunities. This involves not only solution demonstrations related to DMTI Spatial's suite of products, but also leading the needs analysis phase of the sales cycle.
The SE assists Account Managers with customer inquiries regarding the technical applications of our products and services with the ultimate goal of successful client engagement.
In this critical technical role, the SE acts as the liaison between sales and professional services.
You will continually stay abreast of the latest technology in the Location Intelligence market space, and leverage this knowledge towards new and exciting high-value solutions for DMTI clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Become a subject matter expert for formulating and leading pre-sales technical/functional support activity to prospective clients and customers;
- Drive the "technical sale" with clients by demonstrating that our GIS data & software products will deliver the value they require to solve their business challenges;
- Focus on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions;
- Use knowledge of DMTI GIS data, GIS software (typically ESRI or MapInfo) to develop productivity tools for the sales team and partners: eg. Presentations, software application demonstrations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Talent to persuade customers and partners through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication;
- Ability to build excellent working relationships with peers (Account Executives, Sales Engineers and Solution Architects) to build a winning solution for our clients;
- Knowledge and ability to build software applications that demonstrate how to solve client business problems;
- Self-motivated, deadline drive, results oriented in a fun, fast-paced environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- GIS Software Products – ArcMap, ArcGIS Server, MapInfo Professional
- RIA – Adobe Flex, Silverlight, AJAX
- DBMS Software Products -- MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle
- Windows 7 operating systems, Windows Server 2008
